
HDG is looking for a temporary Procurement Assistant (in-person) to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. The temporary Procurement Assistant is responsible for contacting vendors in regard to all open purchase orders and obtaining status. This person will need to check every item in every single open PO, make sure the vendor has everything they need to produce the order, obtain an estimated ship date and see the order through until it has been delivered to the warehouse. Once the project is installed, the assistant must review any outstanding issues with the designer and handle those issues in a timely manner.
Hourly Compensation: Starting at $20/hour, commensurate with experience. On-site parking is included.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Build rapport with all vendors
- Maintain constant contact with vendors in regard to all open purchase orders
- Review and enter acknowledgments; create revised PO’s if needed
- Review CFA’s and enter notes in database for tracking purposes
- Assist with ordering jobs when needed
- Update proprietary database with status of all orders
- Maintain accurate notes in database in regard to all communication with designers and vendors
- Process warehouse receivers. Assure on-time deliveries to the warehouse and retain excellent records of all received merchandise
- May need to assist with installations when needed
- Communicate with designers and procurement manager in regard to any order related issues and follow up to be sure issues are resolved
- Track orders and communicate with warehouse to ensure delivery has been made
- File all paperwork in job binders
Experience/Requirements
- Available to start immediately, in-person, through summer
- Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
Skills Required:
- Must be able to learn how to navigate and utilize proprietary software quickly
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
- A strong sense of urgency
- Attention to detail is a must
- Negotiation skills (must persuade vendors to move our orders forward)
- Superb verbal and written skills
- Ability to multitask
- Must work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to drive or have reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Experience in Studio a plus
