Arden at Parkside, the inaugural residential development in the Parkside community, offers an amenity-rich lifestyle conveniently located steps from Providence Town Center in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Designed to harmonize with the owner’s vision of a public park enhanced by walking and biking trails and lush native landscaping, the interiors of Arden reflect a seamless connection to the outdoors.
Hartman Design Group (HDG) embraced a nature-centric ethos, curating a neutral palette of umber, warm grays, blues, and greens. These tones are elegantly offset by bronze, black, and copper accents, with natural materials such as wood, vegetable fibers, leather, jute, and linen adding warmth and texture. The result is an inviting environment that balances modern sophistication with organic charm.
At the heart of the design is the goal of creating a sanctuary for residents. HDG’s collaborative design process emphasized comfort, convenience, and connectivity to nature. Amenities are thoughtfully designed to cater to today’s lifestyles, featuring flexible spaces for co-working interspersed with cozy lounge areas. This balance of home-like comfort and functional remote workspaces fosters a sense of community while supporting individual needs.
Unique design elements enhance the biophilic experience, integrating natural motifs and textures to bring the outdoors inside. Highlights include a semi-transparent glass space divider adorned with a serene forest scene, custom rugs inspired by natural patterns, and artisanal furnishings and lighting. These details create moments of discovery and delight, embodying Amanda Sturgeon’s philosophy that the intersection of nature and built environments shapes human well-being.
Arden’s design transcends traditional apartment living, offering residents a sensory-rich retreat that sparks curiosity and deepens their connection to the surrounding environment. With HDG’s design expertise, Arden at Parkside stands as a testament to the transformative power of nature-inspired interiors in creating vibrant, sustainable communities.
There are moments of surprise in each space reflected in biophilic patterns. Design features such as a semi-transparent glass space divider with a fall forest scene, wood and stone materials and custom rugs that emulate elements of nature, bring the outdoors into the interior. Amanda Sturgeon, the author of Creating Biophilic Buildings, says “who we are as people has much to do with the intersection and mingling of nature and the human built environment.”

At The Arden, the interplay of light, color, space, and authentic material creates sensorial wonder and invokes curiosity towards the ecological magic that surrounds the apartment building.
