Originally completed in 2014, the property is ideally situated just steps from Harris Teeter, Starbucks, and the Silver Line Metro. Despite its prime location, after nine years, the property needed a revitalization to stay competitive in the dynamic multifamily market.

Recognizing the need for transformation, the Owner turned to Hartman Design Group (HDG) to reimagine the property. The result? A redefined Class A multifamily residence that seamlessly blends modern amenities, sophisticated aesthetics, and a deep connection to nature, offering an unparalleled living experience.

A Warm Welcome: Redesigned Lobby and Entry

Upon entering Ovation at Park Crest, residents and guests are greeted by a lobby exuding effortless luxury. Natural elements and warm hues create a harmonious balance, setting the tone for an organic journey throughout the building. The oversized leasing office was thoughtfully reduced, making way for a cozy sitting area that fosters resident engagement. The concierge desk was redesigned for better accessibility, while the package room received updates to enhance functionality.

The elimination of the glass enclosure separating the clubroom from the lobby established a seamless connection between the building entry and the expansive courtyard. The repetition of natural textures and materials throughout the design blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces, reinforcing a sense of harmony with the environment.

Elevated Amenities for Modern Living

HDG transformed the building’s amenity spaces to meet the evolving needs of today’s residents. The existing fitness center was relocated to a larger, light-filled space overlooking the courtyard, offering state-of-the-art equipment and a design that promotes wellness through views of nature. This relocation allowed for the creation of a new co-working lounge, complete with individual glass-enclosed huddle rooms, conference rooms, and an open communal table. Sunlight streams through the window-lined spaces, providing a tranquil environment for work, study, or relaxation.

A new four-sided gas fireplace serves as a focal point, adding warmth and definition to the hospitality lounge. Beyond this inviting feature, residents can work remotely or unwind with a cup of coffee in a thoughtfully designed setting that balances comfort and functionality.

Unmatched Entertainment Spaces

The former game room was reimagined into a vibrant sports bar, complete with a golf simulator, arcade games, magnetic darts, and scrabble. Positioned adjacent to the outdoor kitchen and lounge seating, this space offers the ultimate entertainment experience. Sliding doors connect the sports bar to the courtyard, enhancing the indoor-outdoor living concept.

The courtyard itself underwent a meticulous transformation. The bocce court was replaced with dining pavilions and workspaces, a green wall conceals an unsightly block wall, and the pet relief area was converted into a cozy fire pit grouping. Curated furnishings and intimate social spaces invite residents to gather, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.

Throughout the project, HDG incorporated biophilic elements to foster a sense of calm and well-being. Natural woods, earthy tones, and textures create a cohesive aesthetic that resonates with the surrounding environment. By positioning amenities along window lines and maximizing courtyard views, the design enhances the connection to nature, enriching the living experience for residents.
